Council pleased to hear from public

Murrindindi Shire Council Mayor Cr Charlie Bisset said it was wonderful to see the number of people who attended Council’s Special Meeting on Wednesday (June 13) to share their thoughts on the Draft Budget for 2018-19.

“We were excited to receive a record number of submissions from the community about the Draft Budget 2018-19 during its public exhibition. Importantly, the feedback came from all corners of our Shire, so we feel like we’re making good progress in listening and responding to the issues that are of importance to our community,” Cr Bisset said.

“We take on board every piece of feedback we get, and while we may not have the resources to action everything in the short term, we do keep these under consideration for future years.

“I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who read the budget and is helping us shape a bright future for our special part of the world.

“The next step in the budget process will see the 2018/19 Draft Budget considered by Council for adoption at its Ordinary Meeting on Wednesday, June 27. We invite everyone to come along to the meeting to see how it fares,” Cr Bisset said.
