PENINSULA: Locals awarded honours


A number of local people in the Mornington Peninsula-Greater Dandenong region were recognised in last week’s Australia Day Honours.

Honorary Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia
Mr Michael Raymond BUXTON, Portsea. For significant service to the visual arts, and to the property development sector.
Mr Robert Samuel McKAY, Sorrento. For significant service to the visual arts, and to publishing.
Mr Neil MATTHEWS, Beaconsfield. For significant service to aerospace component repair technologies.
Dr Ronald James WEBBER, Mornington. For significant service to the building and construction sector.

The late Dr Melissa Anne BAKER. Formerly of Frankston South. For service to people living with lymphoma.
Mr Leslie Vincent HUGHES, Dandenong. For service to veterans, and to the community.
Mr Timothy Alan PHILLIPS, Sorrento. For service to sailing, and to wooden boat restoration.
Mr Joe RECHICHI, Springvale. For service to the community through charitable initiatives.
Mr Bruce REYNOLDS, Dingley. For service to little athletics.
Mr Alan George WICKES, Frankston South. For service to the community of Frankston, and to Australian rules football.
