Yarra Ranges Council is aware of a third party falsely claiming to represent the municipality over the phone and offering to conduct swimming pool and spa inspections on its behalf.

People who receive a call like this are warned not provide any information – it is a scam.

Last year the Council wrote to residents to outline new State Government registration, inspection and compliance requirements for swimming pools and spas.

Unless the Council is requested to call a resident back, all follow up communication will be done in writing, a Shire spokesman said.
