M’dindi Council activates pandemic plan

Murrindindi Council has activated its pandemic plan to ensure it can maintain critical services to the community.

“Council is also reviewing events and activities scheduled in the Shire in coming weeks and months. Following the directive from the Federal Government to cancel events of 500 people or more, we have postponed the Dindi Sustainability Expo scheduled for April 18,” said a Council spokesman.

“We are also exercising caution with other planned events and activities.

“While our Library branches in Alexandra, Yea and Kinglake currently remain open, we have suspended all library programs and events at our branches for the time being.

“We have also suspended the operation of the Mobile Library and Customer Service Van until further notice.

“We regret having to take this action, but believe this is the responsible thing to do to support the health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers and visitors to our libraries.

“We are continuing to provide all other Council services.,” the statement said.
