Smiles after pizza stand-off

It was smiles with the lot at Glenburn tonight (Fri.) after Murrindindi Council allowed food van operators Justine and Damien Baker to continue to trade.

The Council had previously ordered the Bakers, and another couple, to stop using the vacant Glenburn Hotel property for their food vans.

After a 600-signature petition was gathered in less than 48 hours, and extensive coverage by The Local Paper, Shire CEO Craig Lloyd stepped in to find a common sense answer.

The vans will be able to trade at the hotel site for the near future, and another local site – agreeable to all – will be found.

Mr Lloyd, accompanied by Mayor Cr Sandice McAulay and Council Director Stuart McConnell, attended at the Glenburn site tonight (Fri.) to meet personally with the operators, and express their goodwill.

The Local Paper was the only local newspaper-media outlet to give full coverage to this matter, and to attend at Glenburn.
