Jack Russell to issue another writ

Yea citizen, Jack Russell, 80, says he is issuing a new writ against Murrindindi Shire Council and its Chief Executive Officer, Craig Lloyd.

The matter is yet to appear on the list of civil cases of the Supreme Court of Victoria, as at Thursday (Dec. 27).

Mr Russell continues to have grievances with the Council, despite the ban being lifted in regard to his attendances at more than 40 Council properties.

Mr Russell has also been given authority to attend Murrindindi Council monthly meetings, and was present at the Shire’s December meeting held on Wednesday last week (Dec. 19).

Mr Russell’s attendances at Council meeting has been allowed on condition that he not speak for the first six months. The matter is to be reviewed by Mr Lloyd after six months.

Several questions submitted to the Council meeting by Mr Russell, were answered by Mr Lloyd.

Mr Russell is upset that he was not invited to the senior citizens’ Christmas party, at a function run by the Rotary Club of Yea. He has asked Council to publish public notices in local newspapers, advising that the bans are no longer operative.

In one of the judicial review matters that Mr Russell had before the Supreme Court, Judge Moore last month dismissed an application for an extension of time requested by Mr Russell.
