BRIMBANK: Erratic driving at St Albans

Keilor Downs police have charged a man after he allegedly evaded police at high speeds through St Albans on Thursday afternoon (Feb. 4).

The 45-year-old Altona Meadows man has been charged with 25 offences including conduct endangering life, unlicensed driving and failing to stop at police direction.

The charges come after police sighted a black Holden Vectra allegedly driving erratically along Furlong Rd in St Albans about 5.20pm.

The vehicle allegedly drove through a red light before continuing at high speeds along Mulhall Drive, Main Rd East, Percy St and St Albans Rd.

Police attempts to intercept the vehicle were unsuccessful.

Police then tracked the Holden Vectra to Ballarat Rd where they managed to block it up against a barrier and the driver was arrested.

The man was expected to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.
