Power restored after ANOTHER outage


Electricity is being restored to approximately 2700 users in the Murrindindi region tonight (Thurs.) after another unplanned outage.

A tree over power lines is thought to be the source of the problem.

According to Ausnet, the company that operates the ‘hardware’ of the electricity network, 2692 homes were affected by tonight’s breakdown:

Acheron (122 customers), Alexandra (1701), Bonnie Doon (2), Cathkin (27), Devils River (12), Eildon (5), Fawcett (41), Ghin Ghin (9), Gobur (70), Kanumbra (45), Killingworth (38), Koriella (40), Maintongoon (63), Merton (5), Molesworth (87), Rubicon (2), Taggerty (8), Taylor Bay (2), Thornton (165), Whanregarwen (90), Woodfield (5), Yarck (142), Yea (11).

Ausnet Services said: “

“Power has now been restored to all customers except for three in Albert and Bunderboweik Streets. Thank you for your patience 💡💡

“Customers in Alexandra, we have had a tree fall down in Albert Street which has caused an outage for some customers. We are in the process of removing the tree and will repair the damage as soon as we can. We apologise for the inconvenience, we know you have experienced storm related power interruptions recently and we are very sorry for another interruption. We are working to get the power back on as safely and quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”



• A planned outage is planned in part of Yea tomorrow (Fri.). According to the Ausnet website, only one customer is expected to be affected by the outage.
